Wow! The oldest near-complete tetrapod fossils, Acanthostega and Ichthyostega, date back to the second half of the Fammennian. Both were basically four-footed fish, but Ichthyostega was the first known tetrapod that could’ve pulled itself onto land and dragged itself forward with its forelimbs - pretty cool!
